For over 75 years, Lions Gate Fisheries Ltd. has been bringing distributers and food services the highest quality Canadian seafood. From the waters off British Columbia’s west coast to the far eastern seas of the Pacific, we offer our partners a selection of salmon, crab, halibut, groundfish, shrimp, shellfish, sardine, roe and hake.
Much of the fish we sell to wholesalers and retailers, we catch in the wild less than 24 hours before delivery. Your consumers enjoy fresh, healthy and sustainable seafood when you buy wholesale from Lions Gate Fisheries Ltd.
We are also a partner organization of Creative Salmon, a supplier of certified organic, farm-raised salmon in Tofino.
Our Seafood Products Are Certified Sustainable by SeaChoice
Lions Gate Fisheries offers SeaChoice certified seafood. SeaChoice was launched in 2006 to increase awareness and involvement in supporting sustainable fisheries and purchasing sustainable seafood.
Fisheries like Lions Gate and other seafood manufacturers receive SeaChoice accreditation based on their impact on natural factors and habitats, stock status and vulnerability of species. SeaChoice partners with the Monterey Bay Aquarium in its highly praised Seafood Watch program, which provides consumer guides to help individuals, food businesses and chefs make seafood choices that protect our oceans.
The SeaChoice program is operated by the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society, David Suzuki Foundation, Ecology Action Centre, Living Oceans Society and Sierra Club BC.
Our Wild Freshwater Catches Are MSC Certified
Lions Gate Fisheries is also proud to be among the fisheries around the world certified by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). All of our wild capture freshwater products are MSC certified, meaning that buying from us means you are doing your part in keeping our oceans safe and healthy.
The MSC is a nonprofit organization and does not include any fish farming or aquaculture. Marine Stewardship Council accreditation, composed of three parts, promotes MSC standards for sustainable fishing from start to finish.
